GA-SEKORORO – Tzaneen United have confirmed that head coach Hamprey Mlwane has stepped down from his role after only two matches in charge of the club.

The development was confirmed on the club’s social media platforms this afternoon by Isaac Malatji, who announced that the separation was by mutual agreement.

“Our coach Humphrey Mlwane have mutually parted ways with Tzaneen United FC,” Malatji stated.

It is reported that the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder will continue his coaching career in Eswatini, where he is set to resume duties with Tabankulu Celtic FC, a side competing in the Eswatini MTN Premier League.

“Tzaneen United FC is wishing the coach good luck on his new team,” Malatji added.

Mlwane, who previously served as head coach of newly promoted Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side The Bees, joined Tzaneen United in January 2026.

His resignation comes just a day before the team’s scheduled SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League fixture against Phalaborwa United in Phalaborwa on Saturday, 07 February.

During his brief tenure, Mlwane coached two matches, recording one win and one defeat. His final match in charge was a 1–0 victory against TTM.

Despite the sudden change, Tzaneen United remain in a strong position on the league table, sitting just behind Mpheni Defenders with 16 points after eight games.
