Zesco United supporters spotted in Mokopane en route to Durban for Kaizer Chiefs clash

By MOKOPANE – Passionate Zesco United FC supporters were spotted passing through Mokopane as they made the long journey from Ndola, Zambia, to Durban to support their team against Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The supporters are believed to be braving an estimated 34-hour road trip to Durban, earning admiration from football fans along the route for their dedication and unwavering loyalty to the Zambian giants.

Meanwhile, the Zesco United squad arrived safely in South Africa on Wednesday evening, landing at King Shaka International Airport in Durban at approximately 19:40 CAT aboard Airlink Flight 4Z 569.

Ahead of Sunday’s Group D encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Zesco United head coach Mathews Ndhlovu addressed the media during a press conference held in Durban. Ndhlovu said the team travelled to South Africa with a clear objective.

“As Zesco United, we are here for a mission. We have prepared very well for this game. We have gone three games without a win, and considering our objectives, we are taking each match very seriously. We are ready for the game on Sunday,” said Ndhlovu.

Zesco United are still searching for their first win in Group D and will be eager to turn their fortunes around against the South African side.

Team captain Lindo Mkhonta echoed the coach’s confidence, saying the players are fully committed and responding positively to preparations.

“As Zesco United players, we are ready for the game. The players have been responding well to the coaches’ instructions. We know we are playing away from home, but we will take each game as it comes,” Mkhonta said.

Zesco United currently sit at the bottom of Group D. The CAF Confederation Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs is set to kick off at 15:00 on Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
