NKOWANKOWA – Drama once again took centre stage at Nkowankowa Stadium during the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League Stream A encounter between N’kowankowa Continental FC and Selwane White Vultures, which was abandoned before the final whistle on Saturday.
The match was halted in the 78th minute with the score tied at 1–1 after a controversial incident inside the penalty area. Continental forward Benza was brought down inside the box, prompting the referee to immediately award a penalty.
The decision sparked furious protests from Selwane White Vultures players and technical staff.
Moments later, Selwane White Vultures players walked off the pitch in protest, forcing the referee to abandon the match as efforts to restore order failed.
The game had been a tightly contested affair up to that point, with both sides pushing for a decisive goal.
Following the incomplete fixture, N’kowankowa Continental remain rooted at the bottom of the log with two points, while Selwane White Vultures sit on five points on the standings.
The matter has now been referred to Limpopo SAFA, who are expected to review the incident and make a ruling on the final outcome in accordance with competition rules.
