MY DARLING VILLAGE – A 34-year-old man, known as Malome, has been arrested for allegedly dragging a 17-year-old boy to death with his vehicle after accusing him of stealing.
The incident reportedly occurred at My Darling Village on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at around 16:00.
Police said they initially received a complaint of an inquest after the teenager passed away at his home. Upon arrival, officers noted minor injuries on the victim’s forehead, and an inquest case was opened for further investigation.
Following intensive investigations, the case docket was later changed from an inquest to murder.
Preliminary investigations revealed that between Friday, 12 December 2025, and Saturday, 13 December 2025, the suspect—who is the uncle of the deceased—had returned from Gauteng Province to attend a funeral in the village.
After the funeral, late at night, the suspect was allegedly seen dragging the victim with his vehicle.
It is alleged that the victim was accused of stealing items from the suspect’s household. After the alleged assault, the suspect reportedly left for Gauteng without taking the injured teenager for medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested on Friday, 19 December 2025, shortly after his return to My Darling Village.
He is expected to appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 December 2025, facing a charge of murder.
Police investigations are continuing.
