MBOMBELA – Scores of unemployed job seekers braved wet and cold weather on Monday, 12 January, as they stood in long queues hoping to secure employment at KMI Farming.
The group, made up of job hopefuls from different backgrounds, included individuals with tertiary qualifications, matric certificates and some without matric.
Despite the rain, they remained determined, saying their main goal was to find work and provide for their families.
Many described the harsh reality of unemployment and the emotional toll it takes, noting that any opportunity, regardless of the position, would be welcomed.
“It really hurts not to be working, but the fact that people still came out in this rain shows strength and determination. All we want is a chance to work and support our families,” one job seeker said.
The scene highlighted the ongoing challenge of unemployment in the country, as well as the resilience and hope of those still searching for opportunities despite difficult conditions.
