TZANEEN – A woman who was arrested on Thursday in connection with the alleged murder of her husband, Isaya Maphalle, in Morutji Village has failed to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court after she was reportedly admitted to Letaba Hospital.
The suspect, who had allegedly been on the run since the incident, was expected to make her first court appearance on Monday.
However, authorities confirmed that she was admitted to the psychiatric ward at Letaba Hospital on Friday, prompting the postponement of her court proceedings.
Outside the courthouse, outraged community members gathered, demanding clarity on when the suspect will appear in court and questioning the delays.
Some expressed frustration, saying they want transparency on the next steps and the timeline for legal proceedings.
At this stage, no new court date has been confirmed, and the matter remains pending until the suspect is declared fit to appear.
Police are continuing with investigations.
