Woman (22) arrested for alleged murder of boyfriend out on R10k bail

ALEXANDRA-The case of 22-year-old Ntokoto Mabasa, who is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Xichavo Ntsanwisi, has been postponed to 27 February 2026 by the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.

Mabasa, who was granted R10 000 bail last month, made a brief court appearance on Monday, November 24 as the State indicated it is still awaiting key evidence, including the postmortem and DNA reports.

Mabasa is accused of murdering her boyfriend, 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi, at their rented apartment in Midrand in September 2025.

Ntsanwisi, originally from Mhinga village outside Malamulele, was an employee at the Greater Giyani Municipality at the time of his death.

According to police reports, officers responded to a complaint at Colnbrook Estate in Noordwyk, Midrand, in the early hours of Monday, 22 September 2025.

SAPS Midrand communication officer Sergeant M. Papama confirmed that police arrived at around 01:58 and found Ntsanwisi lying on the kitchen floor with a stab wound to the upper chest area. A knife was found at the scene.

Mabasa, originally from Kremetart in Giyani, Limpopo, was found at the apartment and allegedly admitted to stabbing Ntsanwisi during the incident. Paramedics from Netcare Ambulance declared Ntsanwisi dead on the scene. Mabasa was arrested immediately and taken into police custody.

The court has postponed the matter to allow the State to finalise outstanding forensic evidence before proceeding with trial preparations.
