RATSEKE VILLAGE- The school that is situated in the heart of Bolobedu, Greater Letaba, received new mobile classrooms from the Department of Education on Friday, June 10.
This comes after irate community members ambushed the school on May 16, evacuated learners and proceeded to burn six mobile classrooms that were on the premises.
The group demanded that the Department of Education give the school the attention it needed after multiple visits that yielded no results. Growing calls by stakeholders and community members on different avenues of communication prompted the Department to act.

Limpopo department of education spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said the school is on their priority list for infrastructure development projects.
She said a site has been set aside for a new school that will cater for the merged Ratseke and Mahekgwe schools.
“The construction project is planned for the current financial year, 2022/23. “We are already advertising for the erection of a fence,” said Chuene.
The new buildings will include classrooms for Grade R facilities, a small administration block, a fence and water and sanitation facilities.
Chuene said the conduct of the community “is disappointing” because the department had “engaged them in progress towards building the school”. She urged people with information about the burning of the classes to report it to the police.
According to the department, there are about 217 registered learners at the school with six teachers.
