MALAMULELE — Police in Malamulele have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother during a domestic dispute in Shigamani Village.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night, 24 December 2025, at around 23:30. According to police, the deceased, aged 35, had just arrived home from Gauteng when a heated argument erupted between him and his younger brother.
Two sisters reportedly attempted to intervene and calm the situation. However, during the altercation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with an object and stabbed the victim in the upper body.
The injured man collapsed at the scene while the suspect fled. A neighbour rushed the victim to a local healthcare centre, but despite the efforts of police and Emergency Medical Services, he was later certified dead.
Following investigations and information received from community members, police traced and arrested the suspect on Thursday morning, 25 December 2025, at about 07:00 in Mphambo Village.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 December 2025, facing a charge of murder.
