LENYENYE — The annual Lenyenye Christmas Parade took place on Christmas Day, 25 December, bringing joy, music and festive cheer to the community.

The parade started at the new taxi rank premises and featured children from Lenyenye singing Christmas songs as they marched through the streets, spreading excitement and holiday spirit. Held every year, the event is regarded as one of the biggest Christmas parades in Limpopo, drawing large crowds of residents and visitors.

Ward 31 councillor Mabitsela also took part in the celebrations, showing support for the initiative and engaging with community members throughout the day. He used the opportunity to extend festive wishes to residents.

“As we celebrate this joyous season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to each of you and your loved ones. Christmas is a time of togetherness, gratitude and giving, and I am incredibly thankful for the privilege of serving this community,” he said.

He added that the past year had come with both challenges and achievements, praising the community’s resilience and unity. “Let us carry this spirit of hope and compassion into the new year. May your homes be filled with peace, love and laughter this Christmas, and may 2026 bring even greater blessings to us all,” he concluded.

The parade was held under the theme “Lesang Bana Batle Gonna”, with the aim of spreading Christian values of giving, love and joy, particularly among children.

The festive atmosphere continued throughout the day as the community came together to celebrate Christmas and strengthen unity in Lenyenye.
