KARINO – A serious taxi accident occurred on Tuesday morning at Karino New Stands – Dr Venter Road, just before the Emkhatsini T-Junction near Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
According to preliminary information, a minibus taxi pulling a trailer lost control and crashed, leaving multiple passengers injured, with possible fatalities yet to be confirmed. Emergency services, including paramedics, traffic officials and law enforcement, are currently on scene.
Early reports indicate that the taxi was transporting University of Limpopo students travelling home to Nkomazi. Authorities are still verifying the number of people involved and the extent of the injuries.
Heavy rainfall was reported in the area at the time of the crash, raising concerns that wet road conditions may have contributed to the incident. Motorists using this route are urged to exercise extreme caution.
