MORUTJI — Police in Bolobedu have launched a manhunt for a woman following the discovery of her missing boyfriend’s remains in a shallow grave at Morutji Village on Sunday, 09 November 2025.

According to police, officers responded to a call about a suspected body found at a homestead in the village. When they arrived, a family member directed them to an area in the yard where suspicious items were noticed buried under soil. After further inspection, authorities confirmed that human remains had been concealed at the scene.

The victim, aged 42, had been reported missing on 04 November 2025 at Tzaneen SAPS. Family members were able to identify items at the scene that linked the discovery to their loved one. A post-mortem will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

Police revealed that the man’s sister opened a missing person case after his girlfriend — who had been staying with him since August 2025 — allegedly told the family that he had left home without explanation. The girlfriend has since disappeared, and her phone has remained switched off.

She has been identified as Priscilla Mathebula, and police are urging her to come forward to assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts or the incident is urged to contact Sergeant Solly Legodi on 082 319 9662, visit their nearest police station, or use the MySAPS App.

Police investigations are ongoing.
