BOKGAGA-A 30-year-old mother and her three children have been left homeless after their one-room shack was completely destroyed by fire at Mmarorwane, Bokgaga, in the Greater Tzaneen area on Thursday, December 4.
It is suspected that the blaze may have been caused by load shedding, although an official investigation has not yet confirmed the exact cause.
The owner, Shoggy Shai, says she lost all her belongings in the fire and has no idea where she and her children will sleep, especially during the ongoing rainy season.
“I have lost everything and I don’t know where to start,” she said.
An attempt to contact Greater Tzaneen Ward Councillor Ratopola was unsuccessful, but the incident was alerted to his phone.
With the structure reduced to ashes, the family now relies on community support while awaiting assistance.
