Shop owner shot during spaza robbery in Ga-Sekororo

GA-SEKORORO – A spaza shop owner was shot during a brazen robbery at Shikwane Village in Ga-Sekororo on Saturday night, 23 August 2025.

According to eyewitnesses, two unknown suspects stormed into the shop at around 19:10 during load reduction.

They allegedly shot the shopkeeper in the body before making off with an undisclosed amount of money and groceries from the cash register. The suspects are also said to have grabbed additional groceries and fired a random shot before fleeing the scene.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

Police have opened a case of business robbery and attempted murder. A manhunt for the suspects is underway.
