POLOKWANE – Moutse Community Radio Station presenter Kgaogelo Raymond Mokgabudi (42), popularly known as “Spoko” and a co-host of the Nambaskhambe Breakfast Show, appeared for the second time before the Moutse Magistrate’s Court in Sempupuru, Dennilton, on Thursday, 08 January 2026, facing a charge of rape.
Mokgabudi was granted bail of R2 000, with the case postponed to 16 March 2026 for further proceedings. The State did not oppose bail, citing that the accused is a first-time offender.
The accused was supported in court by community members and listeners of the radio station. He undertook to comply with all bail conditions, including remaining at the address provided to the court until the finalisation of the case.
According to police, the incident allegedly occurred on Friday, 26 December 2025, at around 10:45, at an RDP house in Walkaal. The complainant, a 39-year-old woman who is also a presenter at Moutse Community Radio Station, reported that she was allegedly raped by the suspect, who works at the same station.
It is alleged that the woman had returned to the radio station to collect her belongings after knocking off duty. The suspect reportedly followed her, offered to assist her in carrying the items to her residence, and allegedly raped her upon arrival.
The suspect was arrested on 30 December 2025, appeared in court the same day, and was remanded in custody pending his bail hearing.
The matter remains under investigation.
