DAN VILLAGE – A reward of R1 000 has been offered for information leading to the recovery of a Volkswagen car key taken during a botched hijacking incident at Dan Village.
According to the victim, the incident occurred on 16 December 2025 at around midnight. Her vehicle was parked outside a house when two unknown suspects allegedly approached, opened the car from both sides, produced a firearm, and ordered her to get into the boot.
She refused to comply, and the suspects fled the scene, taking the VW key with them.
The suspects were reportedly driving a white Nissan Magnite with a Gauteng registration number beginning with the letters “MB.” The incident happened in the Dan area near Polar Park. The victim also stated that one of the suspects had a dyed beard.
The woman confirmed that her vehicle was lsafely towed back to her home. A case has been opened at Ritavi Police Station, and police investigations are ongoing.
She is appealing to community members who may have information that could assist in tracing the suspects or recovering the stolen car key.
