Man found in possession of baboon skull and tail at Nzhelele Tshirolwe bus stop

NZHELELE– A 33-year-old man was arrested at the Nzhelele Tshirolwe bus stop under the Mphephu policing area on Tuesday, 06 January 2026, after being found in possession of wild animal parts.

According to police, the suspect was discovered with four eland horns, a baboon skull, and a baboon tail, all allegedly without the required permits or documentation.

The suspect appeared before the Dzanani Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 07 January 2026. The case was postponed to Friday, 09 January 2026, for further proceedings.

Police have reiterated their commitment to combating wildlife-related crimes and urged the public to report any suspicious activities involving protected animal species.
