KGAPANE-A mother of three has been left devastated after recent storms severely damaged her home in Mapaana village, Kgapane, in the Bolobedu area.
The violent storms that swept through Limpopo Province and other parts of the country in recent weeks have left 55-year-old Rosinah Sekgodisho and her three children without shelter and struggling to survive.
Speaking to Tzaneen Voice, Sekgodisho said her attempts to seek assistance from the local municipality have so far been unsuccessful.
“I approached the municipality after the incident happened, but no official has visited my home to assess the extent of the damage.
Out of desperation, I asked a community member, Pholoshi Moropene, to mediate on my behalf. Unfortunately, he also failed to secure any help,” she said.
Moropene confirmed that several attempts were made to engage relevant authorities, but all efforts have yielded no results. He added that all possible avenues to attract attention from those in power have been exhausted.
With no assistance forthcoming, the family has now been forced to appeal for help from the public.
The family is appealing to good samaritans, businesses and anyone willing to assist in any form, to help them rebuild and regain stability following the devastating loss of their home.
