DUHVULEZA VILLAGE-A massive ground shifting and landslide has been reported in Duvhuledza Village (Mufulani Area) under the Thulamela Municipality in the Vhembe District, Limpopo, following days of heavy rainfall and flooding that have battered the region.

Recent severe weather has led to widespread infrastructure damage across Limpopo, leaving communities cut off and essential services disrupted.

The landslide has affected more than 10 houses and stretched across an estimated five hectares, prompting serious safety concerns for residents.

With roads and bridges already damaged by flooding, and emergency services challenged in reaching some areas, local authorities and disaster management teams are expected to conduct detailed assessments to determine the full extent of the impact and identify possible relocation needs for those at risk.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued warnings of continued heavy rainfall for parts of Limpopo, including the Vhembe District, increasing the urgency of ongoing response efforts.

Authorities continue to urge residents to take precautionary measures and stay informed of further developments.
