Lifeless Body of Woman Found in Rented Back Room in Malamulele, Husband on the Run

MALAMULELE – Police in Malamulele have launched a manhunt following the murder of a 42-year-old Zimbabwean woman at Xitlhelani Village, under the Malamulele policing area.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at approximately 06h00. Police were alerted to the scene and responded promptly. Upon arrival, officers were met by the owner of the property, who led them to a rented back room where the lifeless body of a woman was found lying on blankets on the floor.

Emergency Medical Services were summoned and certified the woman dead at the scene. She had sustained a stab wound to the upper body. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation and formal processes.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was employed as a pre-school teacher at a local private school in the Malamulele area. She and her husband had reportedly rented the room just a few days before the incident.

The deceased’s husband is currently missing. Police are calling on Ngonidzashe Sibanda, a Zimbabwean national, to present himself at the nearest police station, as he is believed to be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.
