Bakkie stolen by five armed men at Topanama village recovered near Tzaneen Mall

TOPANAMA – A bakkie stolen during an armed robbery in Topanama Village was recovered near Tzaneen Mall just an hour after the incident in the early hours of Saturday, 10 January.

According to reports, at around 02:00 on Saturday morning, five armed suspects allegedly stormed a residence in Topanama Village. The suspects robbed the occupants of a vehicle, cellphones, and a wallet containing cash and bank cards before fleeing the scene.

Following the robbery, the vehicle’s tracking system was immediately activated, alerting security personnel. A coordinated operation involving Tzaneen SAPS and Krafft Solution Security Company was swiftly launched.

The rapid response led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle approximately one hour later. The suspects reportedly abandoned the bakkie in the passage between Mukarama Supermarket and Tzaneen Mall before fleeing on foot.

While the vehicle has been successfully recovered, police investigations are ongoing to trace and arrest the five armed suspects involved in the robbery.

The swift action and effective collaboration between the South African Police Service and private security have been praised, highlighting the importance of joint efforts in keeping the community safe.
