ANC Limpopo bigwigs resign to join Action SA

TZANEEN-The ANC Limpopo in Norman Mashabane has been dealt a huge blow after two prominent leaders have resigned to join Action SA.

The two bigwigs, former ANC youth league NEC member Dr Mikia Ramothwala and former mayor of Greater Tzaneen Municipality and Mark Shope subregional chairperson Maripe Mangena, have sent a shockwave by resigning from the ANC.

Ramothwala, has cited amongst other things, unemployment, poverty, water provision, and illegal immigration, as reasons for his resignation from the party.

“Unemployment, Poverty, Poor state of our roads, water provision, healthcare provision, and foreigners taking over jobs, Spaza Shops while South African youth are suffering from drug addiction, depression, and alcoholism because they are not economically active needs all of us to be politically active.

“I have decided to join ActionSA to continue my political activism and humbly request the termination of my ANC membership,” Ramothwala said.

The former GTM mayor , has been left out in the cold and unstructured in the party after being replaced as mayor and subsequently resigning as MMC of Agriculture in the Mopani District Municipality.

Herman Mashaba’s green umbrella campaign in Limpopo has been recruiting prominent opposition leaders into the party’s fold.

The joining of Mangena and Ramothwala, comes weeks after Polokwane whistleblower and ANC member Thapelo Molepo and former EFF Mopani regional chairperson and Greater Letaba PR Councillor Simon Mangena joined Action SA.
