Teenager (18) stabbed to death by ex-boyfriend at Wisani village

WISANI-An 18-year-old woman has died after she was allegedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend at Wisani village, outside Lenyenye. The incident occurred on Sunday night, 15 December 2025, and the suspect is still at large.

According to police and witness reports, the victim was attacked at about 22h00 while accompanying a friend to a local salon in Wisani village.

She sustained stab wounds to the stomach and was rushed to Dr CN Phatudi Hospital for medical treatment. Later that night, at around 02h00 on Monday, 16 December 2025, she was transferred to Letaba Hospital for further treatment.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, the young woman was certified dead at Letaba Hospital casualty during treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Remember Kgothatso Mushwana of Wisani village. The suspect, believed to be her ex-boyfriend, has not yet been arrested. Police are following up on leads to trace the suspect, identified as Matome, who is believed to be residing in Rita.

The South African Police Service in Limpopo has launched a manhunt and has appealed to the public for assistance. Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident, describing domestic violence as a serious and ongoing concern.

“Anyone perpetuating domestic violence must face the full might of the law,” said Hadebe.
