SOSHANGUVE: According to TUT Popular MC, DJ and Comedian, Peter “Mashata” Leshie Mabuse, was a loyal employee of TUT where he served as a Residence Advisor for both Pretoria and Ga-Rankuwa Campuses.
His varied community engagement activities – e.g. as MC and as Stadium Announcer at Mamelodi Sundowns home matches – had a positive impact on society beyond the gates of the University.
The 46-year-old was shot inside a vehicle just after midnight in a hail of bullets at Soshanguve Township on the outskirts of Pretoria, Gauteng.
Mabuse was shot minutes after he left Epozini Lifestyle in Soshanguve where he was booked as a DJ on Saturday night.
A Police report has confirmed that Mabuse was declared deceased at around 03: 00 at Akasia Netcare Hospital with gunshot wounds on the forehead.
His passing was also confirmed by his family in a statement:
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we inform you of the ultimate passing of our beloved son, uncle, brother and colleague, Mr Peter ‘Mashata’ Mabuse
The Police say the motive of the killing is unknown and no arrests have been made at this stage.
