Xiaomi has brought its new Robot Vacuum 6 range to South Africa, according to Stuff South Africa. The range has three models, and the cheapest one sells for R13,799 at Takealot.

The three models are the Robot Vacuum 6, the Robot Vacuum 6 Pro and the Robot Vacuum 6 Max. The top model, the 6 Max, is available from R24,999 at Takealot.

Stuff South Africa said the 6 Max is Xiaomi’s most powerful robot vacuum so far. It has 35,000Pa of suction power, which is more than the other two models.

The basic Robot Vacuum 6 has 30,000Pa of suction. It also has a roller mop that uses running water. The mop washes and cleans the floor at the same time, so it removes harder stains.

The machine is only 9cm tall. This lets it fit under beds, cabinets and couches. It has mechanical feet that help it climb over steps and door frames of about 4cm.

Its AI camera can spot more than 220 types of obstacles in a home. The base station washes the mop with hot water, dries it with hot air and collects the dust. The dust bag can last up to 75 days before it must be replaced.

The Pro model keeps the same 30,000Pa of suction but adds a system with three AI cameras. According to Stuff South Africa, it can recognise 280 types of obstacles and furniture.

The Pro can also identify 47 kinds of dry and wet stains. These include cat litter, dog food and milk, and the vacuum changes how it cleans when it finds them.

The Pro has arms that stretch out to reach corners. Its LiDAR sensor can pull down so the machine fits under furniture as low as 9.3cm. An HD camera lets owners watch their home through the Xiaomi Home app while they are away.

The 6 Max has two brushes that stop hair from tangling, plus a main brush that cuts hair. Its two robotic legs let it climb single steps of up to 6cm.

Like the Pro, the 6 Max can lower its LiDAR sensor to fit into spaces of 9.3cm. It runs on a 6,400mAh battery.

The 6 Max comes with a self-cleaning station. It washes the mop pads in water of up to 85 degrees and dries them with air at 50 degrees. The station also empties the dust and dirt by itself.

Stuff South Africa did not give a local price for the Robot Vacuum 6 Pro. The Robot Vacuum 6 and the 6 Max are both listed on Takealot.
