LEBOWAKGOMO – A truck transporting white beans overturned at Chuenepoort, just outside Lebowakgomo, causing a chaotic scene as dozens of community members rushed to the site.

The accident, which occurred under unclear circumstances, led to the truck’s load – several sacks of white beans – spilling across the road. Within minutes of the crash, local residents gathered and began helping themselves to the scattered beans.

Videos captured at the scene show people scrambling to fill buckets, bags, and containers with the spilled cargo.

No injuries have been reported so far, and authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the accident.

Police and emergency personnel were called to the scene to manage traffic and restore order. The driver of the truck is believed to have survived the crash, but his condition is not yet publicly known.

Motorists using the Chuenepoort route are advised to proceed with caution as clean-up operations are expected to continue through the evening.

Authorities have not yet indicated whether any arrests will be made for looting the truck’s contents.
