LENYENYE – The Township Entrepreneur’s Alliance (TEA) hosted a powerful Kasi Business Workshop on Saturday, June 21, in Lenyenye, bringing together local entrepreneurs and small businesses for a day of financial literacy, networking, and empowerment.
Under the theme “Managing Your Money,” the workshop focused on critical business financial skills such as budgeting, separating personal and business finances, saving for growth, and tracking cash flow—all essential for running sustainable township-based businesses.
According to Bulelani Balabala, founder of TEA, the workshop was designed to equip township entrepreneurs with tools to navigate the unique financial challenges they face.
“The Masterclass theme is Managing Your Money. We unpack strategies that help entrepreneurs make better financial decisions, ensuring they are ready for growth, sustainability, and funding opportunities,” said Balabala.
The event featured a variety of interactive sessions including:

Entrepreneurs in attendance gained firsthand knowledge from experts who understand the township economy and the complexities of managing businesses in such environments.
Also in attendance was the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD), lending support and insight alongside a number of emerging businesses from around Tzaneen.
This initiative forms part of TEA’s broader mission: impacting kasi entrepreneurs, one township at a time, by offering practical solutions, mentorship, and a platform to grow.
The workshop was hailed as a success, leaving many entrepreneurs inspired and better prepared to manage and grow their businesses sustainably.
