MAGOEBASKLOOF- At least one child has died and 3 passengers sustained very serious injuries, another 4 passengers serious injuries and 3 with slight injuries in an accident at Houtbosdorp turn-off on R71 Magoebaskloof on Monday, February 13.
It is alleged that a Toyota Quantum minibus taxi travelling from Tzaneen heading towards Polokwane lost control and rolled several times.
When paramedics arrived on the scene they found a wrecked taxi on the side of the road on its side.
On inspection, paramedics discovered one lifeless body of a toddler lying roughly ten metres away from the taxi.
Ten other patients were found on the scene with injuries ranging from minor to critical. Several patients sustained critical injuries and required advanced life support.
Once all the patients were treated, they were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
