Teenage boy (19) allegedly impregnated two young girls aged 14 and 15 at Marapong village

MARAPONG- The Lephalale Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS) has arrested a 19 year-old man in relation to two statutory rape cases involving minor victims in Marapong location.

This is after a 14 year-old girl went to a local hospital for medical examination and was declared pregnant on Monday.

On the same day, a 15 year-old girl went to a medical facility and was also declared pregnant by the medical personnel.

Later on, it was discovered that the two minor victims were allegedly impregnated by a 19 year-old man.

The suspect, after realizing that police were on the look out for him, disappeared  to evade an arrest.

The guardians of minor victims were advised to report the matter to police and they opened two cases of statutory rape against the suspect.

The suspect’s luck ran out on Tuesday when he was traced and placed under arrest while at his hideout in Makopa farm under the Thabazimbi policing area.

He will appear before Lephalale Magistrate court on Friday, facing statutory rape cases.
