HAZYVIEW-A tragic accident at the intersection of R40 and Sabie Road near Perry’s Market Bridge in Hazyview has claimed the life of one person and left 15 others injured following a T-bone collision between a minibus taxi and an SUV.
The crash occurred on Saturday and involved a violent impact that left five taxi passengers and one SUV occupant trapped inside the vehicles.
Firefighters were called to the scene to assist with the extrication process.
The remaining injured individuals were treated at the scene before being rushed to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by police and relevant authorities. One lane towards Nelspruit has been closed as the investigation continues.
