CALAIS VILLAGE-Skhumbuzo Comfort Shiburi is a 23-year-old fashion designer born and raised at Calais village in Greater Tzaneen, the second child of a small Christian household.
Shiburi noticed his talent early in his life when he was in high school, he would resize his clothes to make them slimmer, which attracted his classmates and led to the establishment of a business to design school uniforms.
After failing matric in 2019, he tried again in 2020 and succeeded.
He took a break in 2021 to pursue other prospects, and in 2022, he enrolled in the Polokwane School of Fashion Design to pursue a career in fashion design. After a year of study, he received a fashion design certificate.
Eskay Clothing was born in 2022 February, he designs suits, and traditional attire—for both men and women.
“I started this company because I noticed that Tzaneen had fewer fashion designers, and what makes my company special is that it also provides house calls,” the owner stated.
Eskay Clothing Company currently operates locally but plans to grow in the future by opening large stores and more branches in many locations, creating jobs for a large number of people.
