ALEXANDRA-The Alexandra Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to Ntokoto Mabasa, who stands accused of murdering her boyfriend, Xichavo Ntsanwisi, in a case that has gripped public attention over the past weeks.

Mabasa was released on R10,000 bail today, under strict bail conditions, pending her next court appearance.

The 28-year-old is facing a murder charge after Ntsanwisi, a 31-year-old technician employed by the Greater Giyani Municipality, was found stabbed to death at his Midrand apartment on 22 September 2025.

The courtroom was packed with members of both families, as well as concerned community members, as the magistrate delivered the ruling.

Emotions ran high during proceedings, with some relatives of the deceased expressing dissatisfaction with the bail decision.

Mabasa’s bail conditions include surrendering her passport, refraining from contacting state witnesses, and reporting weekly to the nearest police station. The magistrate emphasized that any violation of these conditions would result in immediate revocation of bail.

The matter has been postponed to allow for further investigations. The state indicated that forensic analysis and witness statements are still being finalized.
