Man Arrested for Dealing in nyaope and crystal meth in Tzaneen CBD

TZANEEN– A 30-year-old man was arrested for dealing drugs at the Tzaneen CBD bus rank on Wednesday, 07 January 2026.

The arrest followed a tip-off from a reliable source about a suspicious individual at the bus rank. Police members acted on the information and closely monitored the suspect.

At around 21:00, the suspect, matching the description, was approached and searched. Police found 228 sachets of nyaope, 53 sachets of crystal meth, 34 cocaine rocks wrapped in foil, 22 syringes, and an undisclosed amount of money in his possession.

Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, welcomed the arrest, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the province.

The suspect is expected to appear before Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 09 January 2026, facing charges of dealing in drugs.
