Limpopo Premier Ramathuba and Balobedu nation Queen Modjadji Join Thousands at National Day of Prayer at FNB

SOWETO – Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and Queen Masalanabo Modjadji VII, the reigning Rain Queen of the Balobedu nation, joined thousands of worshippers at the annual National Day of Prayer organized by Motsepe Foundation.

The event is currently underway at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The gathering, now in its fifth year, is one of Africa’s largest inter-faith events. It brings together faith groups, traditional leaders, religious organisations and thousands of South Africans from all walks of life to pray for peace, unity, social cohesion and healing for the nation.

The 2025 edition is expected to draw over 120 000 people from across the country, according to the Motsepe Foundation. The event will feature religious leaders, musicians, and social-impact influencers uniting in a collective call for national healing, blessing, and unity.

For those unable to attend in person, the National Day of Prayer will be streamed live on major platforms including TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, SABC 2 and SABC+.
