By Staff ReLEPHALALE – The Lephalale community is mourning the tragic death of popular musician and Lekompo artist Molimisi Baaitsi, affectionately known as Dr. Nel, who was found murdered in the early hours of Sunday morning, November 2, 2025.
According to preliminary reports, the 29-year-old artist was allegedly attacked between Seleka Number 1 and Number 2 villages. It is believed he succumbed to fatal injuries sustained during the assault.
Emergency services and police responded to the scene after being alerted by community members. Upon arrival, paramedics found the artist unresponsive. The matter has since been handed over to the Lephalale Detectives Unit for further investigation.
The “Tshwara Fase” and “Leoto La Mpete” hitmaker was a rising star in the Lekompo music genre and had gained popularity across Limpopo for his vibrant performances and dedication to uplifting local sounds.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The motive behind the attack remains unknown at this stage, and no arrests have yet been made.
The devastating news has sent shockwaves through the Limpopo music fraternity and among his fans nationwide. Tributes have poured in on social media, with fellow musicians and supporters expressing grief and disbelief.
One emotional tribute read:
