Lekoko Nkadimeng retains UL Limpopo Alumni and Convocation chair for second term

TURFLOOP – The University of Limpopo Alumni and Convocation announced its newly elected Executive Committee during the Elective Conference held on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at Blyde Canyon Forever Resort in Nelspruit.

Lekoko Jacob Nkadimeng has been re-elected as Chairperson, securing a second term after first assuming leadership in 2022. He will continue to lead the Alumni and Convocation for the next three years, driving its vision of unity and development.

Addressing delegates during the conference, Nkadimeng emphasized the importance of solidarity among alumni to achieve their shared goals.

“Let us not become divided after victory, because our responsibility remains great — to deliver on our mandate. When we gather at alumni conferences, we must stand united as one voice and work together to advance the alumni mission,” Nkadimeng said.

The University of Limpopo Alumni and Convocation extended heartfelt thanks to all alumni who attended and participated in the Elective Conference, acknowledging their commitment to strengthening the alumni network and supporting the University’s vision.

Donald Selamolela, President of Alumni and Convocation, delivered a strong message of support, praising the Limpopo Chapter as one of the most exemplary chapters in the country.
“We are proud to be recognised as one of the leading convocation structures in the country,” Selamolela said.

He highlighted the chapter’s impactful work, commitment to democratic values, and contributions to the growth and reputation of the convocation.

“Our unity as a collective has always been rooted in democratic values. While leadership transitions may come with some contention, the integrity and stature of our structure remain undisputed. We have toiled to shape the constitution, and we continue to play a central role in finding solutions for Africa and serving our communities,” he added.

Selamolela also called on alumni to maintain decorum and uphold the dignity of the convocation, urging them to actively engage in advancing its mission and vision through collective effort.
