POLOKWANE-The Afrika Mayibuye Movement (AMM), led by former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu, has announced the immediate removal of its First Deputy President, Nolusabalo Mcinga, citing misconduct related to unauthorised political engagements.

In a statement released by the party, the leadership said Mcinga was relieved of her duties following allegations of holding unauthorised meetings with rival political leaders, an act described as a serious breach of organisational integrity and discipline.

While Mcinga’s party membership remains intact pending a disciplinary hearing, her removal represents the first major internal shake-up since the party’s official launch in June 2025.

According to the statement, the decision was made to “protect the movement from infiltration and the abuse of office for personal gain.”

Party leader Floyd Shivambu emphasised that the Afrika Mayibuye Movement must uphold the highest ethical and political standards, warning that any behaviour that compromises its founding principles will not be tolerated.

The Afrika Mayibuye Movement, which positions itself as a Pan-African, socialist alternative focused on economic liberation and anti-corruption, has gained traction among disenchanted youth and former EFF supporters since its establishment.

As disciplinary proceedings against Mcinga unfold, the incident will likely test the party’s unity and leadership stability in its formative months.
