MOKOMOTJI – Police are investigating a case of alleged rape involving an 18-year-old disabled teenage girl at Mokomotji, outside Lenyenye.
The incident reportedly occurred on 27 December 2025.
According to information, the Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is urgently searching for a male suspect who is alleged to have raped the teenager.
The victim, who communicates through sign language, was reportedly seen with the suspect by a neighbour, who immediately alerted the girl’s mother.
The suspect then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where the rape was confirmed. Police have opened a case and investigations are ongoing to locate and apprehend the suspect, who is known to the victim.
