POLOKWANE – Award-winning Deep House producer and DJ, Collen Ntala Mmotla, popularly known as Chymamusique, says it’s a miracle that he is still alive.
This comes after he survived a fatal head-on collisionthat claimed the life of his friend and colleague, Caven “Poizen” Masetla.
The accident occurred on August 30 on the N1 in Ysterberg, outside Mokopane, and left five people dead, including Poizen, who was laid to rest in Tzaneen on Saturday, September 13.
Chymamusique sustained serious injuries in the crash and revealed last month that he had undergone four operations, with one final procedure still ahead. He was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and has since been cleared to continue his recovery at home.
In a brief but heartfelt Facebook post, the celebrated musician thanked fans, colleagues, and the public for their unwavering support:
“Thank you for the prayers, love, and support. I am grateful for life and will now focus on recovering from home.”
The news of his recovery has brought relief to the South African music fraternity, which is still mourning the tragic loss of Poizen. Friends and industry peers have remembered Poizen as a humble, passionate, and talented Deep House artist whose music touched many lives.
