GA MATSHWI-A resident who spoke to Tzaneen Voice said that the winds of change have been moving slowly in the area. This comes after her house and several others were flooded with water following persistent heavy rainfall.
A resident Adelaide Rangwato said that this problem has continued unabated for ages because the municipality has turned a blind eye.
“Whenever it rains water from the main road flows into our houses. The problem has persisted and reported for the past three years. The local councillors have been dragging their feet. We have called the local councillor to come and witness what is happening but our cries have fallen on deaf ears”, Rangwato said.
The Greater Letaba ward councillor Mthombeni was contacted and she said that she will visit the area tomorrow to make an assessment.
The publication will liaise with the municipality to bring the matter to its attention.
