TICKYLINE – Excitement is building as Bakgaga United, a youth football team from Tickyline in Greater Tzaneen, prepares to represent Limpopo at the highly anticipated 2025 Engen Champ of Champs tournament.
The competition will take place this weekend at the Tuks High Performance Centre, University of Pretoria.
According to team coach Junior Maake, a squad of 21 talented players from across the Mopani District has been assembled to compete against some of the best youth teams in the country.
The Engen Champ of Champs serves as a major platform for young talent to shine. It has produced stars such as Gopolang Taunyana from the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Programme, who was part of the u20 African Cup of Nations-winning Amajita team earlier this year.
The official tournament draw was held on Tuesday at the Tuks Athletic Clubhouse, setting the stage for an intense battle to crown the ultimate champions.
