KGAPANE – Popular Madhamara singer and member of the music group Bad Company 1836, Mokgwakgwa Always Morwatshehla (34), has been granted bail of R3,000 after being charged with the murder of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Lerato Queen Selotole.
The Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court made the decision during Morwatshehla’s bail application on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The matter has been remanded until October 31, 2025, for further proceedings.
Selotole’s lifeless body was discovered at Morwatshehla’s residence in Block 5, Ga-Patamedi, in August this year.
Following the discovery, the singer was arrested and made his first court appearance at the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court on August 19, 2025, where he was initially remanded in custody until August 25.
The case has since drawn widespread attention, both due to the violent nature of the allegations and Morwatshehla’s prominence in the local music scene. Bad Company 1836 has built a significant following in Limpopo with its Madhamara sound, and the news has left fans shocked and divided.
Police have confirmed that investigations into Selotole’s death are still ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to allow the law to take its course as more details are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
Morwatshehla is set to reappear in court on October 31, 2025.
