Ga-Sekgopo Good Friday murder suspect arrested in Botlokwa


GA-SEKGOPO -The SAPS detective in Modjadjiskloof made a huge success in tracing a wanted suspect who is suspected of a murder case of a teenage boy on Good Friday at GaSekgopo.

The alleged murder suspect and Assault GBH has been arrested in Botlokwa on Sunday, March 31.

The suspect used an axe and a knife to assault the deceased and is also linked to cases of Assaults GBH which occurred during easter holidays on the 29th March 2024.

According to the police reports, it is believed that the suspect is part of the gang group that terrorizes the community and the station commander L.t Colonel Manamela has condemned such behavior whereby human rights to life are no longer respected.

“As the police, we will ensure that no stone is left unturned to reach a maximum prosecution to serve as a deterrence to criminals,” Said Lieutenant Colonel Manamela.

The station commander added that her prayer and wish is to see a safer village free of crime, violence and contravention of the Bill of Rights.

Lt Col Manamela appreciated the good behaviour that was shown rather displayed by the residents of Sekgopo in assisting the police to trace the suspect and this relationship will be maintained to create a safer environment for our society.

The station commander went on to appreciate the communication officer and social crime prevention coordinator Constable Mabulane since the incident occurred by addressing the community, working together to prevent violence and initiating the community watch Forum.

“We sincerely appreciate the detective team which executed the arrest. Modjadjiskloof SAPS will continuously service its community in the best interest of the constitution” Concluded Lieutenant Colonel Manamela.
