Television presenter Pamela Mtanga has been nominated for Best TV Presenter at the 4th annual National Film and TV Awards South Africa. The nomination came less than a month after her new Mzansi Magic show, VIP Lounge, went on air.

VIP Lounge first aired on 2 October, according to Hype Magazine. Mtanga co-hosts the show with musician and presenter Zulu Mkhathini, who was also nominated in the same category.

“This recognition came as a massive surprise especially because the show has been on screen for less than a month,” Mtanga said. “Being a part of people’s homes and ultimately their Friday plans is such an incredible feeling, and to be nominated is even more special.”

She said she grew up watching lifestyle shows such as Selimathunzi and Top Billing. She said VIP Lounge reminds her of those shows.

The show is produced by Homebrew Films. It looks at the people and places behind South African popular culture. Viewers get access to celebrity homes and entertainment sets.

The presenters also talk to well known people from music, fashion and other creative fields. Hype Magazine reported that Mtanga’s easy way of talking with guests is a mark of her presenting style.

VIP Lounge is not her only new show. Mtanga also became the host of Elevator Love, another Mzansi Magic production. It premiered on 18 October.

Elevator Love is a reality dating show. In it, Mtanga guides single people through an unusual way of looking for love.

Mtanga has worked in broadcasting, entertainment and digital media for years. Her earlier presenting work includes the shows Massive Music and Afrimaxx.

She has also hosted big live events. These include Miss South Africa 2025 and the South African Music Awards 2025.

The Best TV Presenter category includes several familiar faces from South African television, the magazine reported. Mtanga now has two new shows on air at the same time.

Members of the public can vote on the National Film and TV Awards website. Voters must register and verify their email address before they choose a nominee.

Voting closes on Tuesday, 17 November 2026 at 12:00. The winners will be announced on Thursday, 19 November 2026, at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.
