The musical Mamma Mia will stay at Montecasino for one more week, producers Showtime Management announced. The show will now close on 29 November because of strong demand, IOL reported.

The extension comes as Johannesburg and Pretoria host several events from Friday, 30 October, to Sunday, 1 November. They include an airshow, a fashion party, a hip-hop and soul concert and an R&B tour.

The G-Force Festival takes place at Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria on Saturday, 31 October. Gates open at 8am. Flying displays are set to run from 10am to 3pm, according to IOL.

Tickets for the airshow cost R180 for people aged 13 and older and R140 for pensioners. Children aged three to 12 pay R100. Children under two get in for free.

On Friday, 30 October, rapper Stogie T will share a stage with Afro-soul singer Simphiwe Dana. The show takes place at Thirteen in Braamfontein.

Each artist will first perform alone. The pair will then come together for a joint set, where they plan to rework songs and share the stories behind them.

Dana is known for songs such as “Zandisile” and for mixing Afro-soul with jazz. She has won several South African Music Awards.

In Pretoria, the Ultimate R&B Experience Tour brings American acts Brian McKnight, All-4-One and SWV to SunBet Arena at Time Square. The concerts run on Friday, 30 October, and Saturday, 31 October.

Fans can expect older hits such as McKnight’s “Back at One”, All-4-One’s “I Swear” and SWV’s “Weak”, IOL reported.

The OFF-WHITE Masquerade takes place at Pere House on Sunday, 1 November. The event mixes food, fashion and live music.

Chef K will lead the food side of the day. Malwandle’s House will handle the fashion, while The Blk Skies Project and Friends are set to perform live.

Mamma Mia plays at the Teatro at Montecasino in Fourways. The story is set on a Greek island and follows Sophie as she gets ready for her wedding.

Sophie tries to find out who her father is. She invites three men from her mother’s past back into their lives. The story is told through ABBA songs, including “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and “The Winner Takes It All”.

Weekend shows start at 7.30pm on Friday. On Saturday there are shows at 3pm and 7.30pm, and on Sunday at 2pm and 6pm.

Tickets for Mamma Mia cost between R250 and R580. Terrific Tuesday tickets range from R200 to R400. IOL advised people to check ticket availability and event details with organisers before they go.
