LENYENYE-A white Mazda Rustler that was allegedly stolen from a yard at Vento Park, Lenyenye, on Monday evening has been recovered.
According to the vehicle’s owner, the theft occurred after the suspect or suspects gained access by cutting the fence and breaking the car’s window.
The owner reported being woken up by the sound of the vehicle speeding off.
Local authorities acted swiftly after the incident was reported, leading to the recovery of the stolen bakkie earlier today.
It was found abandoned at the New Lenyenye Cemetery in the same area. Investigations are ongoing as the police work to trace the culprits behind the theft.
The owner expressed relief over the recovery but called for increased security measures in the community to prevent further incidents.
