SENWABARWANA: A 43-year-old woman has died after being mauled by two pit bulls on Friday.
Melitta Sekole was reportedly on her way to work on Friday morning at around 5 am when she was attacked by the dogs at Ga – Makgatho village outside Senwabarwana, which ripped her clothes and bit her.
The Police say she was rescued by community members and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Sekole was later transferred to the provincial hospital in Polokwane where she succumbed to the injuries on Friday.
The dogs’ owner, Nchabeleng Charles Masebe, 62, was arrested and a case of culpable homicide was opened.
He appeared in the Senwabarwana magistrate’s court and was remanded until Thursday, the 5th of January.
