NKOWANKOWA – Police have launched a manhunt for three armed suspects who hijacked a Nissan Double Cabbelonging to Van Velden Hospital in Tzaneen on Monday, October 27.
According to police reports, the vehicle was hijacked at gunpoint by three unknown armed men in Nkowankowa. The suspects allegedly forced the driver into the vehicle and drove off along the R36 route towards Maake Plaza.
After passing Lenyenye, the suspects reportedly dropped the driver off and fled with the hospital vehicle. The shaken driver was later assisted by a passing motorist who took him to Maake SAPS to report the incident.
The hijacked vehicle is described as a Nissan Double Cab Hardbody with a canopy, registration number GHJ 569 L, and is branded with Van Velden Hospital markings.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle or the suspects to contact their nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
