Grammy winner Tyla will now perform two shows at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on her A*POP World Tour, ZAlebs reported. The Gauteng concert has moved away from the Expo Centre at Nasrec in Johannesburg.
The singer is set to take the Pretoria stage on 8 and 9 January 2027. According to ZAlebs, high demand led promoters to add the second concert.
The South African leg of the tour opens in Cape Town on 4 January 2027. The two Pretoria nights follow a few days later.
Promoters made the change after fans raised concerns online about the original venue. Many people complained about seating and general comfort at Nasrec.
After the first tour announcement, fans pointed out that Nasrec had only limited seating. Families and younger fans were among those asking for a better setup. Tyla’s fans call themselves the “Tygers”.
The new venue is the SunBet Arena at Time Square in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria. It is a fully enclosed indoor arena.
ZAlebs said the indoor setting protects concertgoers from changing weather. The arena also has modern production facilities. Its seating is split into organised sections that suit people of different ages.
The report said people who already bought tickets should take note of the new arrangements. Fans who still plan to buy tickets should also check the updated details.
The tour is named after A*POP, Tyla’s second studio album. The record came out earlier this year and has 14 songs.
According to ZAlebs, the album drew more than 593,000 Spotify plays in South Africa on its first day. Its songs also filled the entire Apple Music South Africa top 10 chart.
The album has strong links to Tyla’s South African roots. It features collaborations with local artists MaWhoo and Babalwa M.
The record also has a new version of Fairytale, a well known song by Liquideep. ZAlebs said this remake has become popular with listeners.
Fans at the Pretoria shows can expect to hear She Did It Again, a song featuring Zara Larsson. The setlist is also expected to include That Girl.
ZAlebs said That Girl is quickly becoming a fan favourite. The song has already inspired dance routines that went viral on TikTok.
