NKOWANKOWA – Two men, aged 20 and 25, were arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs in the Nkowankowa Central Business District (CBD) on Thursday, 6 October 2025, at around 10:00.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, an intelligence-led operation was conducted which led to the arrest of a 20-year-old male spotted at a local taxi rank.
Upon search, he was found in possession of 25 sachets of Crystal Meth and 16 sachets of Nyaope, with an estimated street value of R2,000.
Further investigations led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male, who was also found with 4 sachets of Crystal Meth and was immediately placed under arrest. Police then conducted a search at his residence in Nkomaneng Village, discovering that his room was being used as a drug storage facility.
During the raid, police confiscated drugs worth an estimated R4,000, including grams of dagga, Nyaope, Crystal Meth, Rock drugs, 60 smoking pipes, and cash.
The two suspects are expected to appear soon before the Ritavi Magistrate Court, facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
Police investigations are ongoing.
